6 Tips for Natural Beauty

6 Tips for Natural Beauty

Like almost everyone else, you probably want to look your best. But unlike many people, you’re not willing to fill or cover your body with potentially harmful chemicals to do it. You might think that this puts you at a disadvantage, but the truth is that there are all kinds of natural ways to present the most attractive you to the world. Below are six tips to keep yourself naturally beautiful.

Drink water – lots of it. You’ve surely heard this before, but drinking lots of water is key to looking and feeling your best. Water keeps your skin healthy and hydrated, in addition to flushing out any nasty toxins that linger in your body. Find water a bit too bland? Give your taste buds a treat by adding mint leaves, lemon, cucumbers, or whatever natural flavors you wish. You’ll encourage yourself to drink more, and your body will thank you.

Dry brush. Have you experienced dry brushing? It’s where you literally take a brush (we recommend one with natural bristles) and gently use it on your skin. Why should you do this? Because it improves circulation, gets rid of dead skin cells, reduces toxins, stimulates nerve endings, allows your skin to better absorb nutrients, and even improves muscle tone and pushes fat deposits around so they’re more evenly distributed. Do this for five minutes every morning and you’ll feel and look better throughout the day. Just remember to follow up your brushing with a shower to rinse of any dead skin cells away, then use a natural moisturizer like Kiss My Face to keep your skin hydrated.

Sleep like it’s your job. Far too many of us push ourselves to stay up and try to “survive” on less sleep than we know we need. Most people, though, require 6-8 hours every night to look and feel their best. There’s a reason it’s called “beauty rest.” And don’t make the mistake of thinking that you can skip sleep and then “catch up” by sleeping more later – it just doesn’t work that way.

6 Tips for Natural Beauty - Exercise

Make yourself sweat. If you’ve been paying attention to recent beauty trends, you probably know that sweating has all kinds of benefits – you reduce water weight, open up your pores, and shed toxins from your skin.  While sweating by itself (such as you can get in a sauna) has many benefits, your body will reap even more rewards if you pair sweating with exercise. Maximize your sweat by wearing the right clothing, and get yourself invigorated for the workout with pine needle essential oils.

Understand the importance of fiber. We all know that fresh fruits and veggies are good for us, but many don’t realize that one of the biggest reasons for this is because of the fiber they contain. Absorbing the proper amount of fiber raises your metabolism, helps to keep you regular, and assists you in maintaining or even lowering your weight.

Respect your skin’s sensitivity. A beauty “regimen” can take a lot out of your skin, especially if you wear makeup on a daily basis, because you’re constantly clogging your pores and then scrubbing the makeup off at night. It’s necessary to do this for your skin’s health, but next time try a makeup remover for sensitive skin. This is particularly important around your eyes, where the skin is incredibly delicate. Green Beaver makes a natural eye makeup remover for sensitive skin that manages to clean your skin without doing more damage.
